One of the Most Unique Triathlon Race in the world is ON!! The race that triathletes and spcectators all over the world await for The Golden Triangle International Triathlon 2017. The race where you will experience different landscapes and cultures of three countries under one exciting race Laos, Myanmar and Thailand. To celebrate the auspicious occasion of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's 61th Birthday Anniversary on April 2nd, 2016, the athletes from across the globe will have the chance to compete for one of the highest honor Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's Trophy. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand aims to celebrate and pay respect to the princess on this great occasion and also wishes to reiterate the fact that sports is indeed one of the factors which can link the people of the world together especially South East Asian nations and boost the ASEAN regional tourism industry and particularly the Greater Mekong Sub-region, consisting of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Southern China. Sport of Triathlon is the greatest tests of physical and mental, for the athletes as they race for a total of 66.7 kilometers, consisting of 1.7 kilometers swim across the Mekong River from Laos PDR to Ha-Chiang Port 2 in Chiang Saen District of Chiang Rai, near the golden triangle, followed by 53 kilometers cycling from the pier to the Tea Oil Research and Development Center in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai and finishing with a 12 kilometers run from the Tea Oil Center to the replica of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar and back to the Finishing line in Thailand. Athletes can also compete for the duathlon which comprises of a 6 kilometers run, 53 kilometers cycling and 12 kilometers run (in total of 71 kilometers). The Golden Triangle International Triathlon will surely once again be marked in this regions history of being more than just a competition as it will enhance friendship between participants from across the world, as the picturesque view of the landscape will perpetually remain in the hearts of participants. 13

Rules and Regulations Rules Applying to all Segments of the Race 1. Competitor must follow the rules and regulations set by race organizer. 2. Competitors that fail to follow rules and regulations, competitor will be disqualified by The Organizing Committee. 3. In case the competitor cannot compete further due to health issue, the competitor will be disqualified under Medical grounds 4. Drug or stimulants are prohibited as IOC Doping Control rules 5. Any miss-conducted by competitor such as steals or create disturbance will be disqualified by The race organizer. 6. Athletes wishing to withdraw during the race. Must notify the race director or organizer immediately. 7. Any kind of music player is prohibited during this competition. 8. Timing Microchip must be on ankle only at all time during the race. Protest Procedure Any participant who wishes to lodge a protest regarding any decision of the race administration or the conduct of any other participant(s) must file a written protest with the Race Director within 30 minutes of completing or withdrawing from the race and pay a protest fee of THB 1,000. The protest fee will only be refunded if the participant s protest has been successful. The race director s decision is final and once made cannot be appealed. 16
SWIM RULES 1.7 Kilometers 1. Please make sure that competitor understand about the route in program guide line 2. Competitor must wear an official swim cap provided by the race organizer. 3. Competitor must affix race number and checking all equipment within 04.30am 06.30am 4. Wet Suite is permitted. Floating Device and Swimming Aid is prohibited i.e. swimming sock, swimming gloves, and buoy. 5. Swimming Goggles is permitted. 6. Any floating equipment or device stick on body is prohibited. 7. Competitor may stop or ask for assistance from the Organizing Committee who will stand by in rest point. 8. All competitor may have an assistance to collects personal belonging, these assistance must stay within the designated area between the river exit and the entrance of the transition area only. Bicycle Race for 53 Kilometers 1. Competitor must wear safety helmet thats certify by ANSI or SNELL only. Helmet must not made from animal fur and steel. 2. Not allow assist other competitor during the race. 3. Guests are not allow to follow and bring any food or water to competitor during the race. 4. Bicycle must be repair by oneself during the race. No assistance is allow. 5. Competitor must stricly follow sign on route, ground officer and safety guard. 6. Competitor allow to push bicycle if necessary 17
7. Bicycle must be check in Transition at starting point on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 01.00 p.m. - 08.00 p.m. 8. All equipment to reduce air resistance is prohibited. 9. Competitor must keep distance approximately 7m apart from each other. 10. Competitor must ride bicycle in single file and keep left. 11. Competitor will be allowed to overtake on right hand side when is safety to do so. 12. Competitor are not allow to disrupt other. 13. Competitor must affix race number on body that can spot easily. If competitor found without race number competitor will be disqualified. Run for 12 kilometers 1. Competitor are allow to run, walk or crawl only. 2. Competitor must affix race number on chest only. 3. Guest and competitor who left/finish the competition are Not allow help other competitor who still on course. Except competitor help each other in competition. 4. Competitor must be follow any warning from race organizer. Shuttle Bus Services 1.
